Oooh, so it’s been a while since we’ve written one of these! Today we’re delving into the best accessories to use with the Roto. We’ll be looking at the joysticks and steering wheels that have been tried and tested with the chair. Check out our recommendations below!
There’s only one set of HOTAS joysticks that we use, the Thrustmaster T16000M. These are smooth joysticks, that feel natural to use. They are shaped well, and sit nicely on the Roto sidetables, giving you that level of immersion you may not find elsewhere.
The HOTAS works really well when playing the Roto Beta of Vox Machinae, as you twist the joystick to turn the chair, rather than turning your head. With the added rumble of the chair, it really does feel like you’re in the cockpit of the machine.
When it comes to steering wheels, there are a few force feedback wheels that work well with the Roto. You can see more about each of them below.
This is one of Logitech’s older models, which is now no longer sold by them in favour of their G29 and G920 models. Using USB, it sits well on our racing pack and is one of our favourites for the Roto!
Much the same as the G27, the G29 works the same as its predecessor, just brought up to speed for the modern times.
If you’re not able to get your hands on the G27, the G29 has the same specs and internal design, so will work just as well with Roto.
The G920 is a further upgrade to the previous wheels, now allowing it to be compatible with both PC and Xbox One, whereas the G27 and G29 would only previously work with PC and Playstation.
Much like its predecessors, these connect via USB and have force feedback, great for immersing you in the seat of your next racing car.
Finally, the T150. This wheel is compatible with PC, PS3 and PS4. It has force feedback, much like the other three. The T150, has upgradeable firmware, as well as downloadable drivers, so that your wheel will always be up to date.
So there you go! All of our recommended accessories for the Roto. If you have a Roto and have tried any others out that work, let us know! We’ll be happy to share them.
